CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (NEWSPLEX) -- The "Safe Relationships Act" passed Thursday, allowing for an expanded curriculum on sexual assault in public schools.
"understanding what coercion is, understanding what consent is, understanding how to avoid pressure, and understanding where to go for help," said Senator Kaine, "these are the matters that we are going to teach to students at a younger age so that we can keep our kids safe."
The bill also has a lot of significance to the Commonwealth region, since Senator Kaine received a lot of help from local advocacy groups at UVA.
